Jaroslava Panáková

Jaroslava Panáková received her PhD in Social Anthropology at Saint Petersburg State University in Russia and MA in documentary cinema at FAMU Prague, Czech republic. Since 2001 she has been studying indigenous peoples of Polar Russia. She combines fieldwork with filmic approach. Author’s debut The seagull flying against the wind (2005) was screened at the IFF in Jihlava and at the One world festival. Her graduation film Being tourist at home (2009) participated in 2009 at the East Silver market in Jihlava and in 2010, won the first Prize at the TOCOCU festival in Lisboa. In 2013, she combined audiovisual media and social anthropology yet in another medium – exhibition; in cooperation with the Fund Intenda and Slovak National Library in Martin, she curated exhibition My other family as well as created exhibition Different colours of white in the gallery Raum Hellrot in Halle Saale in Germany.Saale in Germany.

Šimon Špidla

Šimon Špidla studied photography at the Film school in Zlín and editing at FAMU Prague. He is author of a series of contemplative films On the river shore (2003) and The Shift (2004); the latter was screened at the prestigious festivals in Anger and in Clermont-Ferrand. He also made the film Josef Božek (2005) and a short study on the sub-machine gun Sa 58 For internal use only (2006). In 2011, he released his film Into oblivion that was nominated for the Pavel Koutecký’s Prize in 2012, received the Czech Radio Prize for the best sound at the festival One world in 2012, and was screened at the IFF Rotterdam. As an editor he cooperated with the prominent Czech and Slovak directors, such as Věra Chytilová, Jan Němec, Erika Hníková, Martin Řezníček, Lucia Králová, Adam Oľha, and Jan Šikl. Together with the directors Pavel Abrahám and Tomáš Bojar he worked on the feature-length documentary films Czech RAPublic (2008) and 2:0 (2012). Furthermore, he cooperated with Marta Nováková on the film Marta that was claimed the best debut at the festival Cottbus in 2006; with the author he is now finishing the film 8 Heads of Madness. Together with director Zuzana Špidlová he created the film Bába (2008) that won the first prize in the Cinéfondation section at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival. He is currently working on his feature-length film debut.

Jonatán Pastirčák

Jonatán Pastirčák received his BA in sound engineering and music production at the SAE Institute accredited by Middlesex University in London, UK. He cooperated on the number of projects: He created sound and music for the animated film Nina (2014) by Veronika Obertová and Michaela Čopíková that was screened at the IFF Bratislava and within the PROJECT 100. He composed music for the short film BKA 49-77 (2012) directed by Ján Pavlacký. The film was screened at the film festival in Nashville and at the Prague Shorts, and was claimed the best Czech short 2013 by the Czech Film Centre. In addition, he made music and sound for numerous plays of the theatre SkRAT. Since 2005, he has been working on his music projects Pjoni, Ink Midget & Pjoni, and Tucan.
