26, 26b  The reindeer herder’s belt is hanging in the kitchen and needs to be fed until the first mourning ceremony after the funeral (usually within a year) when it is put near the grave.

27, 27b The deceased person’s umbilical cord (preserved after the birth) is hanging in the bedroom; it needs to be fed until the first mourning ceremony after the funeral when it is burnt near the grave. Note the multiple cultural interlayering of the objects grouped together – animistic element (umbilical cord), Christmas stocking, Soviet hanging carpet, and tourist souvenir.
